Untold King Friday Cans

King Friday.

King Friday, from Scituate, Massachusetts' Untold Brewing, is a beer that captures the joyful, hazy spirit of a Friday afternoon. Founded by three friends, the brewery makes its home in a beautifully restored old schoolhouse—a place that, much like their beers, seamlessly blends history with modern creativity and friendship. This beer is a tribute not just to the day, but to Mister Rogers' King Friday XIII, a character created to reverse the negative mojo of a Friday the 13th. The brewers channeled that same positive energy, brewing this beer as a reminder to always view the glass as half-full.

This Hazy IPA is a creative expression of modern hop artistry. Brewed with a generous dose of flaked oats, it pours a vibrant, hazy gold and presents with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel from the very first sip. A powerful bouquet of aromas rises from the glass, a medley of sweet orange and tropical fruits.

On the palate, King Friday delivers a complex and juicy flavor profile, bursting with notes of passionfruit, red berries, peach, and grapefruit. The hop character, derived from a thoughtful blend of Cascade, Citra, Grungeist, Idaho 7, and Mosaic, is lush and full-bodied, with a restrained bitterness that keeps the focus squarely on the fruit-forward juiciness. King Friday is a testament to Untold Brewing's skill—a beer that is not only delicious but also a welcome dose of optimism in a glass.

Untold Brewing has three locations: Scituate, Hingham, and Plymouth, MA. While still quite small on a larger scale, it has been exciting to watch their growth over the past eight years. Their beers are exceptional and brewed with such relatable purpose, history, and expression.
